Self-controlled and level-headed

TechnoAlpin launched its new V3 and V2 snow lances about a year ago. The reduced air consumption of the V3 over its predecessor has proved to be a particularly big advantage. The improvements allow the V3 to operate a larger number of nozzles on the same air consumption as the A9 and thus achieve higher snow output. Unlike its predecessor, the V3 manages with a 4 kW compressor. Many customers are already reaping the benefit of this improvement and have upgraded their A9 lances.
The lower energy consumption is not the only enhancement featured by the new lances, however. The external surface and dimensions of the head have been reduced whereas the internal surface has been enlarged. This improves the heat transfer, keeping the lance head free of ice even at cold temperatures and in windy conditions.
The angle between the fixed nozzle units with nucleators and the arrangement of the optional nozzles have been changed, bringing yet another improvement to snow quality.
Sophisticated valve technology
Unlike the non-adjustable V2, the V3 has two control settings in addition to the fixed water setting. This results in four settings or combinations. This control facility is particularly beneficial in changing conditions and when generating snow in borderline temperatures. The valve technology is cleverly engineered to allow the amount of water to be adjusted to the respective conditions and thus optimize the snow quality. Control settings are not absolutely necessary when temperatures remain consistently low. Operators can then revert back to the more economic, non-adjustable ON/OFF V2 lance.
The process of snow generation makes supreme demands on all the components in terms of their durability and resistance. Besides the cold and wind, the valves are required to withstand water pressures of up to 100 bar. TechnoAlpin therefore develops valves to satisfy the most exacting requirements and to meet a wide and diverse range of technical specifications. Other features for added safety include the automatic closing function in the event of a power failure and integrated discharge valve.
