Ski resort operators meet in Iceland

The North Atlantic Ski Areas Association (NASAA), jointly set up by Iceland and Scotland, recently organized an event in Iceland for ski resort operators from both countries. The event included a visit to Iceland's ski resorts and an opportunity for participants to exchange ideas. It is held alternately in Iceland and Scotland and is normally attended by representatives from all ski resorts in the two countries.
This year the event was based in Reykjavik with trips throughout the country. It provided an opportunity for the various ski resorts and companies to present themselves. Close to the capital is the Bláfjöll ski resort and after visiting this, participants followed a 200km gravel road to the north of the island and to the ski resorts of Hlíðarfjall, Dalvík, Siglufjörður and Tindastóll. A cultural program of events was also organized as part of the trip which included a visit to the renowned geysers. TechnoAlpin was represented at the event by Scandinavian expert Wolfgang Hanni.
Scottish and Icelandic ski resort operators have joined forces for several reasons. The structure of the ski resorts in both countries and the weather conditions in winter are similar. As a result, this event offers the ideal opportunity to exchange experiences. TechnoAlpin will certainly be keen to join the event again next year.
