Fun-packed ski holidays in Iran thanks to TechnoAlpin
Transporting guns to Iran normally meets with some opposition. Not so when it comes to TechnoAlpin guns. The snow experts are on a peace mission with their snow guns, aiming to bring safe pleasures to the ski slopes in Iran.
The first fully automatic snow-making system to arrive in Iran is destined for Darbandsar this summer, 60 kilometers north-east of the capital Teheran. The system will be all TechnoAlpin's work, developed in one end-to-end design and installation process. The company will supply a pump station, cast iron pipes and seven of the new T40s. The entire system will be fully automatic and will be controlled by the ATASSplus software.
Skiing is a popular sport in Iran, with a total of 18 ski resorts in the country. Darbandsar Ski Area is the newest of these resorts and has been in operation since 1982. The lowest point in the ski resort is 2600 m and the highest point is 3050 m. The ski season runs from the beginning of December right through to late April.
The logistics pose a major challenge in building the system. All TechnoAlpin snow guns are made at the company's main base in Bolzano and are delivered from there all over the world. The machines are currently still in the production bay - in a few weeks the system components will begin their long overland journey.
