Perisher bustling with preparations for the winter season
Temperatures of -5°C at night and the first snowfalls are the ideal conditions to start up the new fully automatic snow-making system in Perisher, Australia. This definitely sets the way for a successful season inauguration on 6th June!
The expansion of the snow-making system in Perisher was only recently completed. The work, which started in October 2008, affected the areas of the Snowy Trails, Happy Valley T-bar, Crossroads and Tower's Run. It involved the installation of 57 A30 lances, 8 T60-AT3.5, 1 T60-AT1.6, 1 T60-AM and 1 PIANO and the laying of all related piping. In addition, the control software was upgraded thanks to the implementation of ATASSplus. In the two previous years, TechnoAlpin had already supplied 22 type A30 lances, 1 M18 fan gun, 18 T60 and two 3600 cooling towers.
In total, around half of the planned 110 hectare area can be provided with technical snow. TechnoAlpin wishes a good start to a successful winter season!
