Snowmaking system upgrade for Folgaria
Folgaria Ski Resort (ITA) has been a regular TechnoAlpin customer since 2003, with a snowmaking system that has been improved and extended several times. This year will see a further increase in the number of snowguns on the mountain, with six T60-AT4.5s, two T60-AT3.5s and twenty-three M18-AT3.5s, all with central air supply, due to leave the Bolzano plant for the nearby Trentino shortly.
Almost half the fan guns will be installed on the Agonistica trail, which was recently enlarged to twice the originally width. The others will be deployed on the trail Plaut-Sommo Alto-Fondo Piccolo, which links the Folgaria ski area with the lifts at Coe Pass. The contract also includes 31 reinforced pits complete with fittings and a 132 kW compressor.
The fifty kilometers of skiable terrain at Folgaria are located at between 1100 and 1700 meters above sea-level. Folgaria is also at the heart of the popular Skitour dei Forti or Forts Ski Tour, so named because three forts from the time of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy are located along the circular itinerary.
