Westendorf – a loyal TechnoAlpin customer

Westendorf Ski Area in Tyrol (A) is part of SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental, the biggest interconnected ski area in the whole of Austria, with 250 kilometers of groomed trails. Westendorf itself offers skiing thrills in a unique mountain setting on some 50 kilometers of trails.
For many years, Westendorf has been one of TechnoAlpin's regular customers. In the last three years, the operating company has made major additions to the snowmaking system in Westendorf so as to have the capacity to provide full snow cover on the mountain in the shortest possible time.
In 2005 snowmaking was installed on the connecting trail leading to Kitzbühel's Ki-West Ski Area: The TechnoAlpin system comprises a compressor station, the lines on the mountain with 74 take-off points, 56 A9V lances with a central air supply system, 3 mobile M18s and 1 M20 AT on a 4.5 m arm.
In 2007 TechnoAlpin delivered all the pump station equipment (both the electrics and the hydraulics) and installed the main pump station in the new lower terminal building of the Alpenrosenbahn. The main pump station has a capacity of over 100 l/s and operates with two precompression pumps and two speed-controlled high-pressure pumps. The shipment also included 8 mobile M18s, 62 A9V lances and 7 A30 lances.
This year the management at Westendorf has placed another big order with the snow experts:
- TechnoAlpin's new ATASSplus control software for the complete snowmaking system
- another compressor station with two 160 kW compressors and 105 take-off points
- 7 kilometers of lines on the mountain
- 105 A30 lances with a central air supply system and 1 T60.
TechnoAlpin is also providing snowmaking on the linkup between the ski areas in Westendorf and Brixen im Thale, with the connecting pit located at Choralpe as the highest point on the line.
