Kessu Oy celebrates another decade
The TechnoAlpin office in Finland is almost as old as the company itself. Kessu Oy was set up in 1991 and celebrates its second decade in the business this year. Today the company headed up by Veikko Mantilla and Peter Söderholm not only represents TechnoAlpin on the Finnish market but also in the Baltic states.
TechnoAlpin took its first steps in Finland back in the 1990s, still on its own in those days. Nothing more than a few individual snow guns exchanged hands in the early years. In 2003 TechnoAlpin finally installed the first turnkey system in Ylläs. As the demand in Finland grew, the decision was taken to work with a local partner. It didn't take long to find Kessu Oy. The business collaboration began in 2005 and before long the first joint project had been chalked up in Levi. Now there are some 400 TechnoAlpin snow guns in all manner of ski resorts all over Finland. Kessu Oy is the first point of contact for the customers. The projects are planned and executed together. Kessu Oy has three spare parts warehouses and four service centers in Finland and the Baltic states.
Helsinki was the venue for the recent festivities to celebrate the firm's 20-year anniversary. Representing TechnoAlpin were Managing Director Erich Gummerer and Area Manager Wolfgang Hanni who had made the journey to raise their glasses to the successful working partnership. Representatives of the Finnish ski resorts had also been invited and the celebrations lasted well into the small hours.
