Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang (AUT) nominated "Europe's best developed ski resort"
Before the first flakes of snow even reached the valley floor in Saalbach Hinterglemm, the first ski awards were being won: Skicircus scooped the award for the "best European ski resort development 2009" from renowned British winter sports guide "Where to Ski and Snowboard" (WTSS). TechnoAlpin congratulates its client on the excellent result!
More than 430 ski resorts in the Alps, North America, the Pyrenees, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Australia, New Zealand, South America, Japan and Scotland were inspected. Thanks to the modernization of three lifts, Skicircus is now one of the most modern and innovative ski resorts in the Alps. The award ceremony was held on 7 September 2009 at the National Liberal Club in London.
Kathrin Mitterer, the marketing manager for Bergbahnen Saalbach Hinterglemm, was delighted with the award: "Since 2000, over €190m has been invested in cable cars, lifts, snow-making equipment, slopes and piste equipment at Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang. This includes approximately €55m on snow-making systems and reservoir lakes. Now approximately 253 hectares or 90% of runs can receive snow produced by the snow-making systems." Maximum skiing fun guaranteed!
Snow-making has been entrusted to TechnoAlpin for many years. More than 350 "yellow" snow guns, a quarter of which are snow lances, were used at Skicircus during the previous winter. This year the fleet of snow guns is set to be extended once again.
