Best conditions for World Cup start
World Cup fever introduces the new season. The opening of the FIS Ski World Cup takes place again this weekend in Sölden (Austria). The official kickoff is on 22nd October at the Rettenbach glacier, with the women’s giant slalom, followed by the men’s giant slalom on 23rd October.
TechnoAlpin has been a partner to the Sölden World Cup ski resort for many years and ensures that all athletes can race on slopes that provide top-quality snow. Snow guns from TechnoAlpin will also be responsible for the snow coverage this year. This season, the system has been enlarged by a total of 24 fan guns. Ten mobile units were purchased to back up the 14 new lift-mounted fan guns. As a result, the Sölden system now has more than 370 snow guns to guarantee energy-efficient snow making.
This year, the event also marks the 50th anniversary of the FIS Ski World Cup. It was confirmed at the official snow check just a week ago that the slope conditions could not be better. FIS Race Director Markus Mayr added that the slope preparation had not been of such a high quality for 10 years.
Therefore, there is nothing to prevent the opening of the World Cup. TechnoAlpin is pleased to guarantee all visitors a snowy weekend and wishes all athletes every success.
