Snow making, 365 days a year, thanks to TechnoAlpin
TechnoAlpin has been producing turnkey snow-making systems for ski resorts all over the world for almost 25 years. Now TechnoAlpin is proud to present its new Snow Factory, the snowmaking machine for above-zero temperatures. The first Snow Factory of its kind was recently put into operation at the Ruhrquelle ski resort in Ferienwelt Winterberg (Germany). Mobile solutions proved their efficiency in the summer at "Freestyle.ch" in Zurich (Switz.) and at an event run by the Île-de-France ski resort in Paris (Fra.).
In order to bring a commercially viable and field-tested product to market, the team at TechnoAlpin opted to work in partnership with an experienced Germany company which has been making similar systems for the construction industry for 30 years. The product will continue to be made in Germany. TechnoAlpin's 25 years of experience in conventional snow-making has transformed an industrial process, into a true Snow Factory capable of creating first class retail and competitive skiing and riding surfaces 365 days a year
The Snow Factory is not a replacement for classic snow-making systems but can complement aspects of the systems. The Snow Factory is ideal for relatively small sections in ski resorts or for special events of all kinds. Tubing and Rail Parks perhaps in urban areas thought too warm for any traditional snowmaking approach. The Snow based media event on the capitol steps, often attempted, rarely successful. The "Insurance Policy" for the snow event that just cannot fail.
The model installed at the Ruhrquelle resort generates 8122 cubic feet of snow per day, but now a wide range of models and sizes can be now be produced because the Snow Factory is ready for prime time.
The decision to invest at the Ruhrquelle resort was made after the warm winter of the previous year. The season can now be planned with certainty and confidence because the resort is no longer dependent on outdoor temperatures. The resort will gain a competitive edge over the other ski resorts in an area with warm temperatures, and capitalize on long-term bookings.
The Snow Factory at the Ruhrquelle was presented to a wide audience on November 15th, heralding the open of the ski season for this year. The early start is possible thanks to the plug-and-play system of the Snow Factory. The system was delivered to Winterberg in a container ready for operation. Since being connected to the power and water supply, snow production has continued around the clock in recent weeks. There is no longer anything standing in the way of a long winter season.
