TechnoAlpin provides the snow for the World Champions
TechnoAlpin's list of references has grown with the addition of plants for the World Championships: the winter sports centre of Holmenkollen (NOR), where the Nordic Skiing World Championships will be held from 24 February to 6 March 2011.
Oslo has a long tradition as a winter sports venue. Already in 1892 the first ski jumping competitions were held in the Norwegian capital. In the years 1930, 1966 and 1982 the Nordic Skiing World Championships were held there. In 1952 Oslo hosted the Winter Olympic Games. And every year in March the Holmenkollen Games invite people to come to the traditional end of season celebration. Currently the Holmenkollen ski area, which is the most popular resort for the people of Oslo, is undergoing total renovation. The old take-off ramp is giving way to a wider and more spectacular construction designed by JDS Architects. TechnoAlpin will instead be responsible for ensuring that there will be enough snow on the occasion of the great event to be held in two years' time.
These are the essential facts about the project:
• 21 connection points on the cross-country trail, on the take-off ramps and on the landing slope
• 13 x A30, 5 x PIANO, 2 x M18 with mobile pump
• water supply at 70 l/s incl. 4 section shelters
• centralized air supply
• complete automation with ATASSplus
