TechnoAlpin signs a contract with a Russian investor for a project in the Altai region
On 30th November, TechnoAlpin S.p.A. and Leitner S.p.A. met at the Bolzano Chamber of Commerce to sign a contract with the Russian investor Fedor Leonov to develop a ski area in the Siberian region of Altai.
Russia has designated seven large areas for state-subsidized tourism. One of these is the region of Altai, in the south of Siberia on the border with Kazakhstan. It is the most developed region in terms of tourism. Construction work will soon begin on the tourist infrastructure, and the Alto Adige-based companies, Leitner and TechnoAlpin, will play an important role. "Leitner will construct all the ski lifts in the area, whilst TechnoAlpin will handle the snow making systems" Fedor Leonov explains, the financier behind the entire skiing area and a further three hotels.
"The Russian contingent has always shown great interest in our offer of snow making and ski lift systems. After some tough negotiating, we have finally managed to reach an agreement. The important thing is to keep going and stay in the running" agree both Walter Rieder from TechnoAlpin S.p.A. and Martin Leitner from Leitner S.p.A..
Through the coordination of the EOS – Export Organization South Tyrol, it has now been decided to extend the collaboration, broadening the base of economic cooperation between the Altai region and the Alto Adige region in the sectors of tourism, winter technologies and continuous training, and to develop other projects that have already been discussed.
