TF 10: The North American Favorite
Although only in its second year of deployment in North America, the TF 10 has become a snowmaker and management favorite. Making high quality snow in marginal conditions has always been a TechnoAlpin trademark. The T-40 standard bearer certainly helped establish that reputation. The much larger, much higher capacity TF 10 goes toe to toe with its sophisticated little brother on marginal startup temperatures and on snow quality, but it simply starts out making more of that great snow. In some of TechnoAlpin’s global markets, super high flow capacity in very cold temperatures is not always that important. They just don’t see those extremes that often, but in North America where many of our resorts operate in a continental climate, it is all about extremes. This past season was no exception where much of North America, outside of the far west, had weeks of sustained bitter cold. In that weather pattern a gun with very high flow volumes can lay down some really cheap snow. Customers have been observed TF 10’s pushing over 180 gpm.
For us in North America there’s more. The fan and motor of the TF 10 turns just 1500 rpm. It accomplishes that by using its slightly larger motor (still just 25 hp) to turn 11 fan blades. The higher horsepower, 11 blades and the barrel configuration combine to give the TF 10 considerably more throw. There are very few places in North America where big throw is not consider a good thing. Surprisingly the TF 10 is the quietest fan gun in our lineup. Credit the lower RPM.
Big brother that it is, TF 10 shares a lot of great qualities with the rest of the family. High precision ceramic nozzles that tolerate abrasive North American Snowmaking water very well. An environmentally friendly, oil free compressor, “wedge wire” water filter and a highly accurate on-board weather station.
Our passion for big things attracts us to TF 10. It was love at first sight.
