The Snow Factory in Geilo is hard at work
Last weekend, Geilo – about 250 km from the capital city of Oslo – saw the opening of a slope prepared specially for training groups. It is possible to use the slope two months before the season starts, thanks to a store of 20,000 m³ of snow from the previous season. The slope has been maintained and snow lost through melting offset with the help of the Snowfactory from TechnoAlpin.
The technical snow from the Snowfactory contains no residual moisture and has a core temperature of -8°C. This enables melt losses to be kept to a minimum.
On opening day, the slope was open for all ski lovers. Numerous skiers tested the conditions and were won over by the snow quality from the Snowfactory.
