V3 passes the test
For the V3, 2010 was the first snow season. TechnoAlpin's new snow lance came onto the market in the spring, and was put to the test by customers around the world for the first time in the autumn - a test it has passed with flying colors. The first snow-making phase was mastered without any problems, with the V3 impressing users with both the amount and quality of the snow produced. The innovations it includes have therefore already proven their worth.
The arrangement of the nucleators, fixed nozzle units and controllable nozzle units has been altered compared to the previous model, enabling the lance's snow output to be increased. To render the lance less weather-prone, the size of the lance head has also been reduced. The external surface is now smaller, and the internal surface larger due to additional cooling fins. This results in a sustained improvement in the head's internal-to-external heat transfer. In addition, heat transfer from the head to the nozzle body is supported using new recessed nozzles made of anodized aluminum. As a result, the lance head remains ice-free even at cold temperatures and in windy conditions. Like all TechnoAlpin products, the V3 also performs strongly in marginal temperatures.
The lance is also impressive in terms of energy consumption. It has a 4 kW compressor, which is naturally oil-free. All the snow guns produced by TechnoAlpin since 1999 have been fitted with a super-low-maintenance oil-free piston compressor. It combines compact dimensions with high performance and is extremely environmentally friendly.
Since this winter, the V3 has been used worldwide, including in Chaillol (FRA), in Laax (SUI), in Mont Tremblant (CAN), on the Taublitz (AUT), at the Biwako Valley Resort (JAP) and in Ruka (FIN). Everywhere it has proven an immediate hit.
