The city of Munich has presented its bid to the International Olympics Committee (IOC) along with Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Berchtesgadener Land, looking to organize the 23rd edition of the Winter Olympic Games and the 12th edition of the Paralympic Games for 2018. To stir up the population's enthusiasm immediately, a 3-day winter sports event was organized at the Olympic district. TechnoAlpin’s 2010 International Sales Meeting

TechnoAlpin organized a Sales Meeting to coincide with the anniversary marking twenty years' since the company was founded. The international sales team has become so large in the meantime that this year the event had to be divided up into two separate weekends. The 7-branch team stayed in Bolzano from 28th to 30th January, whilst retailers were invited to the Bolzano offices from 4th to 6th February. This event has been held in accordance with the motto ‘In the lead with competence – for 20 years already!’, and now involves participants from 18 different countries. The basic theme was the same for both meetings: despite the economic crisis, TechnoAlpin has yet again managed to defend its position as world leader in technical snow-making. And naturally, there was great satisfaction in celebrating twenty years of work too.

What do the great names of Nordic sports such as Janne Ahonen, Todd Lodwick and Thomas Morgenstern all have in common? Simple, they have all won gold medals at the FIS Nordic Skiing Junior World Championship. This great sporting event devoted to junior professional ran from 24th to 31st January 2010 in Hinterzarten/Notschrei in the Black Forest (GER).

"Die Welt zu Gast in Hinterzarten" (Hinterzarten hosts the world): with this slogan, around 1,000 participants from 35 countries competed for the longest jumps in the skiing stadium at Adler, making for a fun-packed full week of excitement. And the young international professionals gave it their all on the new cross-country trails in Notschrei

Schladming night race: a sporting spectacle on TechnoAlpin snow

However, quite the opposite came true and today, Schladming is an event that even enjoys social status. Every year, the event takes place two days after the Kitzbühel racing weekend. This year the slalom racing elite fought it out on January 26 before a crowd of 50,000 fans on the slopes and over 1.5 million viewers watching the race on TV.

The Haus im Ennstal World Cup Lindsey Vonn secures a hat trick

The Ladies World Cup races in Hauser Kaibling were originally scheduled for January 9 and 10. However, the athletes were already called to the start on January 8 when the cancelled Val D’Isere downhill race was rescheduled. Speed queen, Lindsey Vonn, seized the opportunity and with her third straight victory, emphasized her ranking as the number one favorite in the Olympic speed races.

The three races did not only represent a challenge for the athletes. It was essential that the World Cup slope also remained in top form throughout the 3-day event. At an early stage, the slopes offered optimum conditions. This was little wonder, as TechnoAlpin’s fully reconditioned and upgraded snow-making system had been ready for use by system and slope manager Herbert Landl and his team since the start of the 2009/10 winter season. The result was that Hauser Kaibling, with its 37 kilometers of slopes and eleven cable cars and lifts, was able to don its white winter coat even earlier, with even better quality and less energy and water consumption than ever before.

TechnoAlpin is OHSAS 18001-certified

Compliance with international standards has become an indispensable necessity for companies. Years ago TechnoAlpin introduced the ISO 9001-approved quality management system, using it to optimize a range of processes. Since November 2007 the company has also been ISO 14001-certified. This certification attests to the fact that environmental requirements are integrated in the operating processes.

Over recent months TechnoAlpin has been working on the introduction of an Occupational Health and Safety Management System according to OHSAS 18001 with the aim of reducing accidents in the work place and improving health and safety for our employees. Along with the successful audit in early December, OHSAS 18001 certification will now also contribute to TechnoAlpin’s reputation on an international scale.
