Enterprise “Ski Resorts of Serbia” go for full automation courtesy of TechnoAlpin
Kopaonik, whose 60 km of trails make it the biggest ski area in Serbia, saw the inauguration of the country's first fully automatic snowmaking system on 27 December 2008. The heart of the affair is TechnoAlpin's ATASSplus control and monitoring system for the sparing use of resources and efficient snowmaking.
The new snowmaking installation, which is located at an elevation of 1,710 to 1,974 m, employs a total of 54 snowguns: 25 A30 and 28 A9 stick guns with a central air supply and one mobile T60. The snowmaking water comes from a TechnoAlpin pump station with a rating of 315 kW or 45 l/s. The water supply system is based on an existing network of lines, with 4.7 km of pipe added in the course of the project.
TechnoAlpin's customer, Public Enterprise "Ski Resorts of Serbia", is one of the big players on the Serbian winter sport market. In addition to Kopaonik, the public company also owns other ski areas in Serbia.
