Söll modernizes its snowmaking system
The Tyrolean ski resort of Söll (AUS) rented machines from TechnoAlpin and used them for the first time last winter. The performance of the machines at the extreme marginal temperatures last winter impressed the operator. The existing system will now be upgraded and modernized in a bid to guarantee snow coverage throughout the ski resort in future.
All the pumping plants in the existing system will be renovated and integrated in the new ATASSplus control system. The flow rates will also be increased at two pumping plants in order to be able to exploit the full capacity of the new snow guns. Various shelters of the existing system will also be replaced and refitted. TechnoAlpin has gathered a huge amount of experience in past years in retrofitting and in renovating existing systems. Upgrading existing systems means that the tried-and-tested ATASSplus control software can then be used, bringing about a significant increase in efficiency thanks to state-of-the-art management tools.
The current fan gun system on the Hohe Salve mountain will be replaced completely by a new system with 28 Rubis Evo lances with central air supply.
The ski resort of Söll is part of the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental complex which is one of the largest contiguous ski resorts in the world with 280 kilometers of ski slopes and 90 lift systems. In summer some of the pumps supply the Hexenwasser park in Hochsöll which attracts many visitors to Söll in the summer months with its mountain scenery and "witch water" theme.
