Start of construction work on the new TechnoAlpin headquarters
TechnoAlpin is the first of the companies moving into the new Einsteinstrasse industrial estate in South Bolzano to start with the actual construction work there. On 12 March South Tyrol's Governor Luis Durnwalder and Provincial Minister Thomas Widmann paid a visit to the site accompanied by TechnoAlpin's President Walter Rieder and Director Ulrich Stofner of Business Location Südtirol (BLS).
"This South Tyrolean benchmark company is leading the way in the development of the new industrial estate to the south of Einsteinstrasse," said Governor Durnwalder and Minister Widmann, and continued, "We are very pleased that, with the many parties involved all pulling together, the stage was set for TechnoAlpin to once more reiterate its commitment to South Tyrol as the company's location, and that construction of its new headquarters has now begun on a 16,700 m² plot of land at the western end of the estate."
President Rieder said the new facility would also be a milestone for South Tyrol in the use of an innovative prestressing technique for a building of this size, and that it was expected to be ready by the spring of 2010. Director Ulrich Stofner stressed the importance of the TechnoAlpin company as the world market leader in the field of snowmaking. With a headcount of over 200 employees worldwide, including about 120 in Bolzano, TechnoAlpin generates annual sales totaling 100 million euros and in so doing confers on the Province of South Tyrol an extremely powerful image in the field of mountain technologies.
