TechnoAlpin at work in Sulden
Sulden is located at the heart of the Ortler region (South Tyrol/Italy) and surrounded by numerous peaks over 3000 meters high.
At an altitude of 2600 - 3260 meters above sea-level, TechnoAlpin is currently working on a turnkey contract for a complete snowmaking system. Having produced the plans, TechnoAlpin is now supplying and installing 77 shafts (including 65 mobile shafts with retracting electric pedestals and 12 lance shafts), 7 km of cast-iron pipe, 9 mobile M18s, 9 mobile T60s and 12 A9 lances with compressors. The contract also includes construction of two pump stations with a capacity of 25 l/s and100 l/s respectively.
Installation of a snowmaking system at such an altitude is a big challenge for all concerned in terms of climate and ground conditions.
Construction work began at the beginning of July. Following a spell of wintry weather in mid-July, work is now progressing well.
