The Winter Universiade in Trentino comes to a successful conclusion
11 to 21 December saw the 26th Winter Universiade Trentino 2013 take place in Trento and its Province.
This is the sixth time that Italy has welcomed the Universiade as host nation. The events involved various winter sports: alpine skiing and cross-country skiing, Nordic combined, biathlon, ice hockey, speed skating and figure skating, curling and snowboarding.
The Universiade brings together sport and university life, and is much more than just a sports competition. It allows student athletes from all over the world to celebrate the true spirit of friendship and sports together with the host city.
Naturally, the organising committee left nothing to chance, including the snow: TechnoAlpin lent its assistance to organisers and athletes, guaranteeing perfect conditions in terms of snow. All the locations, including San Pellegrino, Pozza di Fassa, Bondone, the Predazzo Ski Jumping Stadium and the Lago di Tesero Ski Jumping Stadium have relied on TechnoAlpin's artificial snow production for years.
And the international competitions in Trentino don't end there. After hosting the 2013 Fiemme Nordic Ski World Cup, the province is preparing to take on another important and prominent international event, the Nordic Junior Ski World Cup, running from 27 January to 3 February.
