Access to the slopes for all: Supporting adaptive skiing!
After the year of 2021 full of challenges, during which there were many difficulties to overcome, not only for the ski industry but also for the whole world, we are entering a more heartwarming period, with the Christmas holidays and the New Year celebrations in sight. This is particularly the case in mountain and ski resorts, which welcome large numbers of guests who come to enjoy the snow and skiing.
However, in this festive period we should not forget those of us who are less fortunate, who are in need or who face more difficult life circumstances. This is the reason why, for several years now, TechnoAlpin has chosen to use the budget normally dedicated to Christmas gifts for customers to support a charitable or humanitarian project.
This year, TechnoAlpin has chosen to provide financial assistance to ANAE, a French association based in Lyon, whose vocation is to promote inclusive tourism for people with disabilities and their families. ANAE organizes vacations, at the winter sports resorts of Saint Sorlin d'Arves and Pralognan la Vanoise (Savoie region), so that people with disabilities, by themselves or with their families, can discover the practice of skiing, through the adaptive skiing, as well as other winter activities. Each season, the ANAE provides nearly 4,000 hours of adapted skiing sessions to the association's guests!
Each winter season, the ANAE hosts an average of 1,200 people, children, young adults and adults, with disabilities in its two mountain residences, in fully adapted conditions, both in terms of the infrastructure of accommodation, equipment, care as well as supervisory staff. The contribution of TechnoAlpin will allow ANAE to strengthen their actions, as Gilles Vermot Desroches, the president of the association, says: “We are very happy to have the support of TechnoAlpin. We share a common passion for mountain. This support will help us to acquire much needed equipment for these moments of escape and leisure which are so precious and so memorable, at the summits of mountain resorts."
TechnoAlpin is very proud to be able to modestly support the projects of ANAE and thus help introduce the joys of the mountain activities and skiing to people with disabilities and to offer them a unique moment of freedom.
