The Olympic mountain coming back to life
Jahorina is one of the small mountains whose equipment has been growing steadily over the past two years. It is located in Bosnia and Herzegovina and it offers an interesting vertical drop of 550 meters. In the past two years, it has been all about improvement. The number of skiers has increased by 50 percent and new slopes have been built in accordance with the FIS standards. Equipment for summer activities has been expanded too and one of the longest alpine coasters is in place in Jahorina. It is also a spot for entertainment thanks to music shows of the most famous Balkan stars, as well as for hosting the “Exit Festival 84”.
The only donwside was about snow. The management of the Olympic Jahorina Center was concerned about what would happen, if the snow would be missing at the beginning of the winter season. Therefore, the ski resort secured itself its slopes with a new fleet of snow producers by TechnoAlpin. Overall the expansion encompassed the installation of 40 snow lances V3ee, 21 fan guns T40, five fan guns TF10 and one state-of-the art fan gun TR8.
Success with TechnoAlpin
All this has contributed to many events being held in Jahorina such as EYOF (The European Youth Olympic Festival), World Snow Day, ultra-trail races, as well as some charity races (Races of the famous people, Race for life), in which some of the world’s famous skiers took part (Alberto Tomba, Bojan Krizaj, Jure Franko).
“Since the 1984 Olympics, nothing as significant has been done for Jahorina as the realization of the TechnoAlpin snowmaking project!”, said one of the local newspapers. Thanks to the TechnoAlpin snowmaking system, Jahorina offered 131 ski days in the past season, on 40 km of slopes. For TechnoAlpin also the customer relationship is very important. Because the highest quality and success can be achieved only through a close collaboration with the people who have the local expertise. The collaboration with the Jahorina Olympic Center is one of the best examples for this: “I earnestly claim that there’s no better price-quality relationship”, says CEO of Jahorina Olympic Center, Dejan Ljevnaic.
