Forum Alpitec – Discussing the future of Snowmaking

Forum Alpitec, as a part of Prowinter 2016, will be held from April 6 to 8 in Bolzano. Forum Alpitec is the new discussion platform focusing on current issues and future challenges faced by mountain industry players. TechnoAlpin will host one of the discussions of Forum Alpitec: “Snow at above-zero temperatures... Is this the future?”

High level speakers will debate around this major question on April 6th at TechnoAlpin headquarter: Lukas Lehner, Business Development manager from the MeteoGroup, Geir Olson, CEO of Norwegian Snow Consulting, Franz Hörl, Chairman of the Association of Cable Cars of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and Erich Gummerer CEO of TechnoAlpin will take the floor to address this issue.

This debate will contribute to give a deeper insight in one of the major challenges for the future of winter ski industry and ski resorts worldwide and to which extend and how they will need to adjust: Evolution of conventional snowmaking, all-weather snowmaking machines, snow storage etc… In light of the beginning of the 2015/16 winter season which saw short and late cold windows of opportunities combined with a lack of natural snow falls, this debate will be particularly interesting.
