TechnoAlpin Holding publishes its first carbon footprint report

What was once abstract is now measurable: The carbon footprint report offers a comprehensive overview of the group's greenhouse gas emissions for the 2023/24 financial year and identifies key areas with the greatest potential for reduction.

Calculating the carbon footprint not only meets a core objective outlined in TechnoAlpin's latest sustainability report but also establishes a solid strong data foundation for future climate protection initiatives. Another milestone on the path toward greater sustainability.

The report covers includes from TechnoAlpin, Engo, and EmiControls at all locations. In the first year of calculation, the companies Xelom and Lanatec, also part of TechnoAlpin Holding, were not yet included.

The results at a glance

During the period under review, the companies emitted a total of 3,706 tonnes of carbon equivalents (CO₂e). By comparison: This figure is equivalent to the yearly energy consumption of about 452 households or 3,088 flights for one person from Milan to New York.

Emissions are divided into three main areas:

Scope 1 - Direct emissions: 1,234 tonnes
These are generated by the company directly, for example through heating systems in buildings or company vehicles. 71% of these emissions come from stationary installations, 29% from mobile sources.

Scope 2 - Indirect emissions from energy consumption: 791 tonnes
These arise from the consumption of energy, primarily electricity and heat.

Scope 3 - Other indirect emissions: 1,681 tonnes
These emissions are generated throughout the value chain, such as from transport routes, business trips, or the use and disposal of products.
The largest share (67%) comes from transporting products to customers, followed by waste disposal (17%), business travel (8%), and employee commuting (7%).

Looking forward: Upcoming steps and goals

TechnoAlpin Holding plans to further optimize data quality in the coming financial year. The two-year carbon footprint calculation will provide a critical foundation for establishing emission reduction targets.
