TechnoAlpin is partner to numerous ski resorts which host major winter sports events. Many world championship races have once again taken place on snow made by the leader in snowmaking technology during the last few weeks, with many more to come over the next few weeks. Common to all the events is the guarantee of success which comes from optimum snow conditions, not only for the ski resorts but for the athletes as well. Two large, prestigious contests were again held in Italy over Christmas.
The unique slopes of Breuil-Cervinia hosted the FIS Snowboard Cross World Cup for the second time this year from December 20 to 21, 2018. The perfect snow conditions on the slopes – mainly assisted by TechnoAlpin snowmaking technology – made it possible to get back on schedule with the World Cup which had actually been planned for December 15 in Switzerland. The snowmaking system in Cervinia was ready much earlier than planned thanks to TechnoAlpin. The impressive state-of-the-art system boasts snowmaking technology engineered by TechnoAlpin and was put into operation on time at the end of October.
Bormio also played host on the world stage right after Christmas when the ski resort became the venue for the giant slalom and men's downhill events on December 28 and 29, 2018. The races have been held on the slope in Bormio since 1985 which is considered to be one of the most difficult and exciting ski slopes in the entire World Cup. It was only thanks to TechnoAlpin that the ski resort was able to cover this slope with optimum quality snow on time. “The finish area in Bormio is located at 1200 m and there is not always natural snow cover at this altitude in mid-December” said Pasquale Canclini, Technical Director of the ski resort. “That’s why no less than 20 snow producers were positioned on the last third of the Stelvio slope alone. It took us less than four days to prepare the World Cup slope to perfection.” The Bormio snowmaking system was in fact expanded the year before. The enormous snow output of the TF10 was the main factor in convincing the organizers. The pumping capacity of the ski resort was also increased, leaving nothing in the way of an optimum water supply for the new snow producers and allowing the Stelvio course in particular to be covered with snow in no time.
TechnoAlpin is proud to guarantee its customers and partners snow of the best quality.
