Dolni Morava – guaranteed snowfall with no compromises

The Czech village of Dolni Morava nestles to the east of Prague, on the border with Poland, and is an extremely popular year-round destination. In winter, the ski resort boasts 13 ski slopes with varying degrees of difficulty and state-of-the-art facilities.
 

The snowmaking system has been entirely revamped and constantly expanded over the past 9 years, providing Dolni Morava with one of the most modern and efficient snowmaking systems in the Czech Republic. The system with its pumping capacity of 330 l/s and two storage ponds totaling 100,000m³ is controlled by the latest ATASSpro software. The Dolni Morava management team is unwilling to compromise and always chooses the cream of the crop! Even during the current expansion stage, only the latest generation snow guns are being installed. The future system will comprise 30 new TL4 lances and 19 TT10 and TR8 fan guns. This brand new set-up will complement the 49 fan guns (mainly TF10s) installed during earlier expansion stages. This means that snowfall over the entire ski resort will be generated almost exclusively by TechnoAlpin snow guns from next season onwards.

And that was no mean feat for the TechnoAlpin team who did an excellent job, as per usual. The last two expansion stages took place right in the middle of the pandemic when material shortages were taking their toll on companies around the globe. Nevertheless, the Dolni Morava management team was not prepared to curtail successful on-site summer activities. So it was very much business as usual with the snow-making system being installed at the same time. The installation work therefore went ahead without stopping construction and operational deadlines were met.
