Optimized snowmaking using precise weather forecasts

Accurate weather forecasts for optimal conditions

More snow can be produced in a shorter amount of time in colder temperatures than in limit temperatures. Temperatures that are cooler by as little as -2°C allow for savings of over 20%.

TechnoAlpin has developed its own weather module that is integrated into the ATASSpro software so that we can make the most of the relevant temperature windows. A highly precise weather forecast is created based on the snow producer’s historic weather data. With the 14-day forecast, an upcoming cold spell can be identified early on to find the perfect snowmaking conditions. This means that ski areas no longer have to rely on large-scale weather data, which can vary widely in Alpine areas. Instead, they have their own forecasts for the important points in the ski area. This also means that the snow team reliably knows if and where optimal conditions will occur in the next few days and can make the best use of temperature windows.

A snow forecast is also available in SNOWMASTER, a tool that provides an overview of the entire system. It shows how much snow can be produced in the next few days and how much more snow is required to reach each snowmaking target. This helps ski areas better plan how they use their resources.

Snow management

Based on empirical values from past years, SnowManager allows to precisely plan the amount of snow needed for each snowmaking zone and slope.

Standardization and reduction

About 90% of the components used for the TT and TR snow guns are identical. All of our different lance heads can be installed in one standardized lance pipe.

New valve technology

TechnoAlpin has developed a new nozzle valve technology so that we don't waste a single drop of water.
