TechnoAlpin brings the first automatic system to China
Xiling Snow Mountain is near Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan, popular with a great many skiers and winter sports enthusiasts all year round. As there is little in the way of snowfall in the region, technical snow has been used regularly here for some years. The existing lance system has now been modernized. TechnoAlpin has installed 10 (2 masters and 8 slaves) A30 automatic lances with centralized air along the 600 m ski slope.
All the lances are equipped with overground valve blocks. This means that the air pressure, water pressure and water temperature sensors are better protected against the damp than they are when installed in pits. The rapid installation and quick and easy maintenance are just a couple of the many advantages of this system. The water filter cartridge can be cleaned without having to go down into the pit or clear the hatch of snow. At the end of the season, the lances can be dismantled and sent to a central station for upkeep and maintenance, thereby considerably simplifying the work of the managers. The lance system is controlled by TechnoAlpin ATASSplus software, the first installation in China.
The greatest challenge for the managers of Xiling Snow Mountain is the average temperature, which is relatively high in winter. Here, the TechnoAlpin lances really come into their own because, in the end, the 'snow experts' specialize in producing snow at marginal temperatures.
