St. Vigil: A new system for the World Cup in Kronplatz

In January 2023, the Women's World Cup Giant Slalom on the challenging Erta piste at Kronplatz / St. Vigil took place with TechnoAlpin guaranteeing total snow coverage for the first time. To this end, the snow-making system along the slopes was completely revamped in 2022. "Regarding pumping stations, we had already been working with TechnoAlpin for almost 20 years and were always very satisfied. But we found that it sometimes caused difficulties when the entire system did not come from a single source. We wanted to change all that in 2022. After an intensive test phase, we finally decided to switch completely to TechnoAlpin," explains Danny Kastlunger, Technical Director of St. Vigil Cable Cars and World Cup OC.

The conversion made snowmaking much easier and more efficient, which meant that the slope could be opened as early as 1 December for the very first time. The World Cup races in January also enjoyed excellent snow conditions.
