Sustainability as a result of repair and maintenance
One of TechnoAlpin’s central management goals is to promote and integrate sustainable principles in all areas of business. Sustainable behavior and business practices aren't just limited to dealing with new products and technologies, but also dealing with defective and older devices.
Here at TechnoAlpin, we have placed great value on long-lasting products from the very start. The high quality of our snow guns should be maintained over decades, even in the difficult conditions present on mountains. To this end, we use high-quality components, which means that countless snow guns from the 90s are still working without issues.
Nowadays, the repair and servicing department fixes defective snow guns and individual components. Plus, it also reconditions rental and demonstration equipment as well as used snow guns. So devices from different generations are available on the second-hand market. All of the snow guns are completely reconditioned, making them as good as new. This is also guaranteed by TechnoAlpin's one-year warranty. For some applications, older-generation snow guns are perfectly adequate.
If it is no longer practical to overhaul a model, all components that are still usable are removed. They then become spare parts for older models on the used equipment market for which components are not always easy to obtain after more than 30 years in service.
Additionally, the repair and servicing department provides professional repair and servicing of pumps, compressors, valves, and individual components.
Only the parts that are completely unusable are separated into recyclable materials to make the most of them. One part of the components will be returned to the respective supplier so that new parts can be made from this material. The rest is professionally recycled by nearby companies.
Repair rate 2022-23
- 60% of returned snow guns were repaired/reconditioned and recirculated.
- Approx. 95% of the other components (pumps, compressors, valves, and individual parts) were repaired internally or returned to the manufacturers for repair.
