Christmas Charity Campaign: TechnoAlpin is supporting the Haslital Brienz 2024 National Games
This Christmas, TechnoAlpin is once again supporting a special humanitarian project, namely the 2024 National Winter Games - the brainchild of Special Olympics Switzerland - to be held in Haslital Brienz.
The Winter Games will take place in March 2024, marking, as always, an important milestone in the sporting calendar of Special Olympics athletes: They can compete against other individuals, experiencing self-esteem and respect coupled with unforgettable moments of success.
Around 600 athletes with intellectual or multiple disabilities will take part in skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, curling, and floorball competitions.
"This is a matter close to our hearts and we are very honored to be hosting the Games," explains Gerhard Fischer, OC-CO President. "TechnoAlpin and the Winter Games OC share a passion for winter and social engagement. We are extremely grateful to TechnoAlpin for their support in bringing this major event to fruition.”
The Games are held every four years and are celebrated in true Olympic spirit with a torch relay, opening ceremony, fringe events and a closing ceremony. As far as Gerhard Fischer is concerned, the collaboration with TechnoAlpin is a stroke of luck: "We need widespread support to organize unforgettable Winter Games for more than 600 athletes and 250 support staff over four days. In conjunction with Special Olympics Switzerland, we want to promote an inclusive society where everyone is welcome."
Special Olympics is the world's biggest sports movement for individuals with intellectual or multiple disabilities. Special Olympics has a vision of an inclusive world, fueled by the power of sport, in which individuals with an intellectual disability lead active, healthy and fulfilled lives. Special Olympics is committed to the ongoing physical and mental development of children, adolescents and adults with intellectual disabilities through the medium of sport. The organization promotes regular training and competitions in a variety of sports.
We are delighted to be making a contribution to this particular success story this year.
