Blue Mountain: Guaranteed snow coverage courtesy of TechnoAlpin

Pennsylvania's Blue Mountain ski area is one of the first resorts on the east coast of the US to start its winter season each year. It is renowned for its rapid and extensive snow coverage in particular.

Even before the initial collaboration with TechnoAlpin in 2015, Blue Mountain was already equipped with an automatic system. The partnership led to the installation of  new fan guns primarily on the wider slopes. The "Burma Road" beginners’ slope was also equipped with new lances. This meant that this run could also be opened to the public right at the start of the season. Following the successful 2019/20 season, the management team decided to invest further in new TechnoAlpin technology. More than 200 new lances were installed, valves were replaced, and more than 30 fan guns were delivered.

The plant was further expanded in 2023 to improve resource efficiency and to make the most of shorter snowmaking windows. More than 20 TT10 fan guns and more than 70 TL8 lances were installed as part of the expansion. Nick Delich, Director of Mountain Operations at Blue Mountain, was completely satisfied with how the project was carried out, and highlighted the company’s solid partnership with TechnoAlpin: “We are excited to continue working with TechnoAlpin in the coming years.”
