Mt. Selwyn: A limit temperature success story

After a three-year hiatus in Mt. Selwyn’s skiing calender due to the devastating bush fires of 2020, the long-awaited snowfall has finally returned. 

Following the devastating fires, the ski area had a clear vision of how to rebuild the resort and the surrounding area. And Selwyn relied on the world-leading manufacturer of snow guns and snowmaking systems to do just that. This strategic decision meant that snow could be generated efficiently - even at higher temperatures - getting the new season off to a flying start. Compared to the previous snowmaking system, the resort was now able to generate snow in conditions that were two degrees warmer, which made an impressive difference.

Another key factor in the success story was the resort’s commitment to use "ATASSpro", a fully automated, state-of-the-art control system. This automated process makes full use of every valuable snow window and takes system efficiency to brand new heights.
