FIS Alpine World Ski Championship to take place on TechnoAlpin snow in 2019

TechnoAlpin works with the main ski destinations all over the world when the optimum quality of snowmaking is required. This explains why there has been close cooperation for many years between the leader in snowmaking technology from Bolzano and the Swedish ski resort of Åre.

Åre is the first ski resort in Sweden to host two Alpine World Ski Championships and numerous FIS ski races. The FIS Alpine World Ski Championship got underway on February 5 with the ladies’ super-G and will end on February 17 with the men’s slalom. All races during these two weeks will take place exclusively on TechnoAlpin snow. Only the best snow can offer all the athletes the optimum conditions for the duration of this tournament and the consistency required to guarantee that the events will run without any hitches.

The ski resort belongs to the SkiStar Group, one of the largest ski resort networks in the world, which today comprises seven ski resorts in Sweden, Norway and Austria. SkiStar has set itself the goal of offering its customers an all-in snow package, which is why it has been working in partnership with TechnoAlpin at the cutting edge of snowmaking technology since the middle of the 1990s.

Part of the men’s downhill run has been renewed and modernized in preparation for the major event. The capacity of the pumping station has been significantly increased because two of the three existing pumps have been replaced.

Groundbreaking technology for the ski resort of Åre

A large part of the ski resort in Åre consists of a permanently installed lance plant. In recent years, the ski resort has added to its facilities in various ways, including with TF10 fan guns and the revolutionary TR8 models. The borderline temperatures in Åre, especially at the beginning of the season, call for the leading-edge innovations of TechnoAlpin in order to guarantee snow of the best quality. With its unique drive system and maintenance-friendly design, the TR8 is a cutting-edge product on the snowmaking market. The TR8 boasts state-of-the-art technology and is revolutionary in that the fan and compressor are driven by just one electric motor. The rotary screw compressor is oil-free and, because of its uniform compressed-air outlet, it weighs less and is easier to service.

The entire system is controlled by the Liberty software.

TechnoAlpin is pleased to guarantee its customers and partners top snow quality and wishes all the athletes every success for the upcoming contests.
