Work experience at TechnoAlpin

As is the case every year, TechnoAlpin will also employ numerous interns this year, giving them the opportunity to get a taste of life in the various departments and to gain experience in the world of work. A total of 19 enthusiastic students will have been working in the company between June 18 and September 28. We met up with some of them to talk about their experience at TechnoAlpin.

Simon Margesin, 18, ATASS

What jobs are you doing?

I am mainly working on the maintenance and configuration of the ATASSplus control system. I also have some other small jobs which are interesting for me and helpful for my colleagues in the department.

What made you decide to do an internship at TechnoAlpin?

I am still at school so I primarily wanted to get some initial insight into the world of work over the summer and then finish my last year at high school and get my advanced qualification and so prepare myself for getting a job or going to university. My main aim was to take the opportunity to gain experience in an international company like TechnoAlpin where you have the chance to learn a lot of interesting things.

What do you like most about the company?

I am truly amazed at the working atmosphere in the company. When you walk through the building, you are greeted and approached from all sides from day one. There is also close cooperation between the various employees and line managers. This makes it much easier for a young man like me to get into the working environment.

Could you imagine working at TechnoAlpin in the future?

When I have finished my studies, I could very well imagine joining a company like TechnoAlpin. This is mainly because of all the positive experiences I have had during this time in the company. I would definitely recommend an internship at TechnoAlpin to others.

Simon Dissertori, 20, Research & Development

What jobs are you doing?

I have a wide and diverse range of jobs primarily related to drawing 3D objects and assisting with the development of test benches. I also have lots of other smaller jobs which are very varied and interesting.

What made you decide to do an internship at TechnoAlpin?

I was first introduced to TechnoAlpin in the technical college I used to attend, “Max Valier” TFO in Bolzano. I attended a presentation of the company and was excited about the business from the very first minute. After graduating from high school, I decided to study engineering at the University of Bozen-Bolzano and enrolled for the mechanical engineering degree course. The university has its summer recess from July to September so I applied to TechnoAlpin for an internship in the Research & Development department and was lucky enough to get a job. It was very important to me to further my education in this field and to get some initial professional experience and to put the theory I have learned into practice.

What do you like most about the company?

The list is very long but, if I had to pick three things, I would say the scope for creative input, the trust in the employees, and the pleasant working atmosphere. It is particularly important to me to be able to bring my own ideas and creativity to the table, and this has most definitely been the case for me at TechnoAlpin. What sets TechnoAlpin apart is the trust placed in a young student like me from the very beginning, which I feel is very important for my development. Last but not least, a pleasant working atmosphere is the key to getting anything done and this is unquestioningly the case at TechnoAlpin. No matter whether you have just finished your first working day or have been with the company for a long time, everyone is treated the same. This motivates a young man like me even more.

Could you imagine working at TechnoAlpin in the future?

I could definitely imagine applying to TechnoAlpin again. One reason is that the company is constantly growing and so new opportunities are arising, especially in research and development. Another reason is that the company is at a very high level in my view in terms of technology and organization.

Johanna Micheletti, 18, Accounts

What jobs are you doing?

I have a wide and diverse range of jobs but most of my time is taken up attaching invoices to the relevant delivery notes. My work also involves contacting suppliers and notifying them if their invoices and delivery notes are missing. I also file invoices which have been paid.

What made you decide to do an internship at TechnoAlpin?

During term time I was looking for a summer internship in accounting and came across TechnoAlpin. I had always wanted to work in a large international company so I did not hesitate and promptly applied.

The best thing about the company is quite simply the pleasant working atmosphere. Even as a summer intern you are made to feel included. This makes it easier for a young woman like me to enter the world of work. The co-workers are just really nice and are always available to help you if you get stuck. This fantastic atmosphere automatically makes working great fun.

Given the structured work processes, I could very well imagine working at TechnoAlpin in the near future. The friendly working atmosphere would also tempt me to apply again without hesitation, either for an internship or a permanent position.

I have been working at TechnoAlpin since the beginning of July and what I like most is the variety of the work. Interns in general are not always given the nicest jobs but this is not the case at TechnoAlpin. The staff here have a very high level of confidence in young men like me and this encourages you to demonstrate your own abilities. I also like the working atmosphere here very much. You are always listened to and the whole set-up enables you to integrate quickly.
